The Exhibition

The ‘In Celebration Of Black Art’ show is an Art Exhibition designed to raise the awareness of the wealth of artistic talent among the African Diaspora and present the narrative of the Black experience. 

The  inaugural ICOB Art  event will take place in 2022.  Date to be announced.

On display will be Original Art and limited edition prints across the different mediums.  Within the exhibition will be a special pop-up shop which will be available to sell cards, prints, limited editions and Afrocentric textiles.  Artists can gain commissions throughout the show.  The show will also feature artists at work.

 

Talks

Talks are FREE as they are included in the ticket entry price.  Workshops are also free, and last for one hour. The following talks will take place at the show.


Talk 1: ‘Lets Talk About Black Art’
Where we are now, where we are going and how to get there.  An over view of the present British Black Arts market. Looking at the opportunities and possible setbacks artists could face.


Talk 2: Black Art News from around the World.
Featuring Afrocentric art from USA, Africa and the Caribbean. Covering – South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica and Barbados.

Talk 3: History of Black Art.
How and when did Black Art start. Where can early black art can be found today?


Talk 4: The Art of Investments (in Art)
Time: 25 minutes


Talk 5: The Emotional value of Art and Mental Health Considerations
Time: 25 minutes

 

Workshops

Workshop 1: Drawing Workshop: ‘Celebrating the Black Female Figure’
A one off instructed workshop given by the experienced figurative artist Alvin Kofi.


Workshop 2: Black Artist Clinic
An exciting workshop designed for Artists.  Looking at how to develop a career in a growing UK Visual Arts arena.

 

Artists involvement
Artists who would like to exhibit at the show, should contact us in the first instance via email or telephone. 

Original Art can be sold on the spot, and  artists can also send prints or products to be sold in the pop up shop.
